I would have never expected instrumental hip-hop to be this varied.

There’s a lot to like here; the into-the-red clipping, the drawn out, witch house-esque hard snare snap without much of the obnoxious vocal effects that subgenre’s come to stand with, the murky vocals that convey longing. It keeps shifting, not like so many verse-chorus-verse backing tracks, and it’s obvious this is made to stand on its own.
